This season hasn't gone according to plan for South Florida. Even so, the Bulls can still become bowl eligible with a win tonight. And it wouldn't be just any win. It would be a victory on senior night over a ranked West Virginia team, and it would keep the Mountaineers from playing in a BCS bowl. It would be a satisfying win that would help atone for such a disappointing season. There's no doubt South Florida will be motivated.
All those things aside, the Bulls always seem to get up for the Mountaineers. USF has won the last 2 at home in this series. In 2007, the Mountaineers showed up as a 7-point favorite and were defeated by 8 points. In 2009, they showed up as a 2.5-point fave and were defeated by 11.
Holtz has taken the blame for South Florida's collapse, so I'm expecting a very good game plan out of him. It's never a bad idea to take his team's catching points as they are 28-14 ATS all time in the underdog role.
The Bulls are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as an underdog and the underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 in this series. We'll take the points.
