4* INTERLEAGUE GAME OF THE DAY: Yankees -160
I have backed the Yankees in each of the last two games and come up empty-handed. I'm not shying away on Friday. New York hasn't lost more than three games in a row all season and I fully expect them to put an end to their losing streak tonight.
New York will send out Andy Pettitte, who will be making his second start of the season. Pettitte allowed four runs in just over six innings of work in his first outing. Not a great start, but he showed flashes that he still has more than enough to get the job done.
The Yankees offense has managed just four runs on 13 hits during their three-game losing streak. This offense is too talented to continue to hit that poorly. I like our chances of the Yankees offense coming alive at home after four straight games on the road.
Cincinnati will counter with Bronson Arroyo, who is a solid 2-1 with a 3.25 ERA on the season. However, Arroyo is coming off a horrible start against the Nationals. He allowed four runs on 11 hits in just five innings. There is plenty of reason to believe he will continue to struggle. He has allowed 53 hits in 44.3 innings this season.
Pettitte and the Yankees have dominated interleague play. They are 29-11 in their last 40 interleague games as a favorite, 24-6 in their last 30 vs. National League Central, and 7-1 in Pettittes last 8 interleague starts. BET NEW YORK!
