4* MLB LATE NIGHT BOOKIE BUSTER: Cardinals -121
Who would have thought Lance Lynn would take over for the injured Chris Carpenter and ended up being one of the elite starters early in 2012. Lynn is 6-1 with a 1.81 ERA and 0.895 WHIP in seven starts. He allowed three runs in a single game for the first time all season in his last start, despite allowing just four hits.
Just how good has Lynn been? He has allowed a total of five runs on 10 hits in his last three starts and only given up 26 hits in just under 45 innings of work all season.
If it wasn't for the fact that he came out of nowhere, there is no way we would be able to get the Cardinals at this price.
The Dodgers will counter with lefty Ted Lilly, who has also been pretty good early on. Lilly is 5-0 with a 2.11 ERA. However, the Cardinals offense has absolutely crushed left-handed pitching this season. They are 8-2 against left-handed starters, averaging 6.9 runs with a remarkable .309 average. BET THE CARDINALS!
