4* HAWKS/CELTICS NBA ATS SMASH: Celtics -8
The Celtics came away from Atlanta with an impressive win in Game 2, despite not having the services of starting point guard Rajon Rondo. Not only will Boston be getting back Rondo for Game 3, but there seems to be a pretty good chance that the Hawks will be without Josh Smith. Smith injured his left knee in the last game.
There is talk that Smith is going to try and suit up tonight, but even if he does play I can't see him being very effective. That is a huge loss for the Hawks, as Smith is probably the one player they need to play well in order for them to win. In the series he is averaging 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4.5 assists a game. Not to mention he is Atlanta's best defensive player. His 1.5 blocks per game also leads the team. Without him at 100%, look for Boston to get a lot more easy shots around the rim.
If Smith were 100%, I still liked Boston to win this game by 6-8. If he doesn't play, I think Boston could wind up winning by 15 points. That's how valuable he is to the team.
Boston is 10-2-1 ATS in their last 13 home games and a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a home favorite of 5.0-10.5. BET THE CELTICS!
