The Cleveland Browns shocked the NFL world by trading away Trent Richardson earlier this week. Richardson was the team’s first draft pick (#3 overall) last season. He was the heart and soul of the team’s offense.
Cleveland’s offense was bad enough with an elite running back in the backfield, so they are going to be awful without him as a weapon in their offense.
To make matters even worse Brandon Weeden won’t play in this one either. Most assumed Jason Campbell would start, but the Browns are starting Brian Hoyer instead.
I really don’t think Hoyer is the answer for Cleveland at quarterback, and you have to wonder why the Browns would throw him into the fire here.
The Vikings don’t have an elite defense, but they can get after the quarterback with quite a bit of pressure.
Minnesota has the NFL’s best running back in Adrian Peterson. Peterson can single-handedly take over a game, and that’s what I expect him to do in this one.
The Vikings will be at home, where Peterson is most comfortable.
Christian Ponder won’t have to be amazing for the Vikings to win and cover this one. Minnesota should keep it vanilla on offense and just out tough the Browns.
Take Minnesota. Good Luck, Razor Ray.
