3* No Doubt Rout on Patriots -
New England vs. Buffalo,
09/08/2013 13:00 EDT,
Score: 23 - 21
Point Spread: -9½/-110 New England
The Patriots took a lot of heat when they did not resign Wes Welker. However, New England has always been known for making questionable moves, and for the most part things end up working out. Danny Amendola figures to be a great replacement to Welker and should lead the team in targets in this game. The Bills defense was horrible last year allowing 27.2 points per game. Ridely should have a strong performance because he is up against a Bills defense that allowed 146 rushing yards per game.
With changes at the head coach and quarterback positions I don’t think the Bills offense will be very efficient this year. They are clearing going through a rebuilding season, and the Patriots should stack seven in the box to shut down Buffalo’s only real scoring threat. CJ Spiller will carry the bulk of the load from the Bills this year. He is up against a Patriots defense that allowed just 93 rushing yards per game on the road last season.
The Patriots are 14-6 ATS in their last 20 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games during the month of September. In head-to-head games between these teams the Patriots own an 8-1 ATS record during the last nine games played in Buffalo. With the Bills defense as bad as they are and the offense going through a rebuilding year, the Patriots should have no problem dominating this game.
