Point Spread: +3/-110 Cincinnati
The Bengals may be one of the most undervalued teams in the league. They are coming off a 10 win season and playoffs appearance, with every key player returning to the team. The Bears defense should take a hit with the loss of Nick Roach, Geno Hayes, Brian urlacher and DJ Moore. They did not bring in any veteran player capable of filling those roles. Instead Chicago will rely on draft picks Jon Bostic and Khaseem Greene to make up the lost production.
Chicago will also have a new head coach this year. The offense loses Gabe Carimi at the guard position, and receiving tight end Kellen Davis. At wide receiver they will be without Johnny Knox. The Bear’s offensive line was bad last year, but they should be even worse this season and now Cutler has fewer targets to throw the ball to. The Bengals picked up James Harrison to help out with the run defense. The Bengals had 14 interceptions last season while allowing just 16 touchdown passes.
The Bengals are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and finished the season at 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall. Chicago comes into the season with a 1-5 ATS record in their last six home games and a 1-4 ATS record in their last five games overall. I don’t think the Bears are going to be able to move the ball against this Bengals defense so we will take the points with the road team.
