5* Total No Brainer on Notre Dame/Michigan UNDER
Notre Dame vs. Michigan,
09/07/2013 20:00 EDT,
Score: 30 - 41
Total: -110/+51 Under
This game should be a defensive battle based on what we saw in week one from both of these teams. The Irish held Temple to just 6-points, while Michigan held Central Michigan to 9-points. The Irish also showed us that the team will once again be carried by the defense. The managed to put up just 28 points against a Temple team whose defense does not even belong in the same conversation as Michigan.
Don’t let Michigan’s 59 point performance raise any concerns. The Chippewas were one of the worst defensive teams in the FBS last season, allowing 32.4 points per game. The Irish return 8 starters on the defensive side of the ball. Last season they held opponents to 12.8 points per game and finished with a 3-10 record on the over/under.
The under is 5-1 in Notre Dame’s last six games played in September and 21-7 in their last 28 games following a straight up win. The Wolverines also have some favorable trends that point to a low scoring game. The under is 4-0 in Michigan’s last four games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game. They are also 4-1 to the under in their last five games following an ATS win.
