8* Sunday MLB LAA/OAK
Oakland vs. LA Angels,
07/21/2013 15:35 EDT,
Score: 6 - 0
Money Line: -117 Oakland
The Los Angeles Angels host the Oakland Athletics on Sunday afternoon in game three of a three-game set.
Bartolo Colon gets the nod for the A’s in this one. We cashed a ticket on Colon’s last start before the All Star break, and we’ll go right back to that well in this one, as we expect Colon’s dominant play to continue.
Over his last 11 outings, Colon is 9-1 with a 1.59 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. The Athletics went 10-1 in those games.
The Athletics are 22-6 in Colon’s last 28 starts.
In his last four starts versus the Angels, Colon has a 1.26 ERA.
The Athletics are 5-0 in Colon’s last five road starts.
Jerome Williams counters for the Angels. Williams was taken out of the rotation when Jered Weaver came off the disabled list, but an injury has seen him go right back into it.
Williams’s July has been pitiful. He’s been blown out of the water in each of his three starts, posting a 19.13 ERA with a 3.00 WHIP and a .439 BAA.
Williams made two starts against the Athletics a year ago, going 0-2 with a 5.59 ERA in those games.
The Angels are 2-8 in Williams’s last 10 home starts.
Good Luck, Razor Ray
