3* NBA SITUATIONAL KILLER
Toronto vs. Denver,
01/27/2012 21:00 EDT,
Score: 81 - 96
Point Spread: -12½/-105 Denver
This is the perfect spot to fade the Raptors. Toronto comes into the game off impressive back-to-back road wins over Phoenix and Utah as underdogs. However, in their overtime win over the Jazz on Wednesday, Andrea Bargani re-injured his calf and will be out indefinitely. Bargani is by far the Raptors best scoring threat. He put up 36 in the win over the Suns and 25 in the win over Utah. Without him their offense will struggle to score 90 points.
The Nuggets have a few injures of their own, most notably point guard Ty Lawson. Losing Lawson is big, but they still can rely heavily on veteran point guard Andre Miller.
Denver has won eight straight over the Raptors, but most importantly they have covered the spread in 7 of those games. Denver is also 22-5 ATS in their last 27 vs. Eastern Conference, 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games as a home favorite of 11.0 or greater, and 17-5-2 ATS in their last 24 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
