Angels vs. Mariners Under 7
Jason Vargas pitched for the Mariners the last few years, and he seemed to always pitch well at Safeco Field. Vargas has been struggling this season, but he will probably feel much more comfortable on the mound back in Seattle.
He has an ERA of 3.3 in his career at Safeco Field.
The Seattle Mariners have one of the most underrated pitchers in baseball in Hisashi Iwakuma. Iwakuma came to the majors last year and struggled a bit early on, but by the end of last year he was really dealing.
He has kept it rolling in a big way this year. Iwakuma has a 1.99 ERA so far this season.
At the end of last year, Iwakuma shut down the Angels two times in a row at the end of September and beginning of October when the Angels were fighting for a playoff spot. The Mariners are actually 4-0 in Iwakuma’s last 4 starts against the mighty Angels lineup.
Seattle’s offense will be one of the worst in baseball again this year, and the Angels high-octane offense hasn’t been clicking yet this year.
Iwakuma has had their number in the past, and I don’t expect them to get it going today. Vargas knows how to pitch in Safeco Field as well.
The under is 21-4-1 in the Mariners last 26 Sunday games. It’s a low number, but I expect this to stay under too. Take the under.
Good Luck, Razor Ray.
