8* Thursday NHL STL/CGY
Calgary vs. St. Louis,
04/25/2013 20:00 EDT,
Score: 1 - 4
Money Line: -126 St. Louis
St. Louis -126
The St. Louis Blues host the Calgary Flames on Thursday. St. Louis is coming off a 3-1 win over Colorado, while Calgary dropped their last game to Nashville, 4-3.
We cashed a top-rated play on the Blues way back on February 15th when they beat the Flames in Calgary, and we’ll go right back to that well with St. Louis getting a very favorable price at home.
The Blues have won four games in a row at home, allowing only four goals in those contests.
The team struggled when starting goaltender Jaroslav Halak went down with an injury, but 2012 All Star Brian Elliott has really rounded back into form after a slow start.
Elliott is 7-2-0 with a stellar 1.14 GAA in his last nine starts, and is 9-2-0 in the month of April. He has been rock solid in five career starts versus Calgary, posting a 1.83 GAA.
The Flames have played well of late, but their good fortunes have coincided with an extended home stand in which the team played six consecutive games in the province of Alberta.
Calgary has made two trips to St. Louis last season, losing each time, and getting outscored by a combined score of 7-2.
The Blues are 4-1 in their last five games overall. Take St. Louis.
Good Luck, Razor Ray
8* Play on St. Louis Blues -126
[UPDATE: The Blues are up to -240 favorites in some spots and while we'd never advise laying that kind of juice, we do feel like there is still great value with the Blues -1.5 +130 on the puck line.]
