The reigning World Series champion San Francisco Giants invade Los Angeles to battle the $215-million payroll of the Dodgers. We're more than happy to grab the generous price being offered with San Francisco.
The Dodgers have a lot of question marks in their lineup heading into the season. Aside from their 3-4-5 hitters, Matt Kemp, Adrian Gonzalez, and Andre Ethier, there isn't much to fear in the rest of the Dodgers' order.
Matt Cain gets the call for the Giants and his numbers have been nothing short of spectacular. The Giants are 11-2 in Cain's last 13 starts as a road underdog. The Giants are also 4-1 in Cain's last 5 road starts against Los Angeles.
San Francisco will go up against arguably the best pitcher in baseball in Clayton Kershaw; however, the Giants are a whopping 40-19 in their last 59 games vs. a left-handed starter. The Giants lineup is stacked with good on-base guys that are capable of grinding out counts and getting Kershaw out of the game early.
All in all, we feel as though this is a great price with the defending World Series champions. San Francisco won the season series 10-8 last year and knocked the Dodgers out of NL wild-card contention in the next-to-the-last game of the regular season. Look for their success against L.A. to continue.
Good luck, Razor Ray
