Marquette vs. Miami Under 127
The Marquette Golden Eagles are pretty fortunate to still be in the NCAA Tournament. They truly should have lost to Davidson in their first game, and Butler had plenty of chances to put them away in the Round of 32.
Still, Marquette has found a way to battle back and win with their gritty style of play and solid defense.
Miami has leaned on their strong defense to win their first two games in the tournament. Illinois gave the Hurricanes a real scare, but Miami’s strong defense came up with big stops when they had to on Sunday night.
While Miami does have some very good shooters, the Hurricanes don’t like to get out in transition very often. Instead, they like to rely on their half court offense and defense to win them games.
It has been very successful for the team all season, and I don’t expect them to change the way they play in this one.
Marquette doesn’t have any great outside shooters, and I expect Miami to pack it in the paint and force the Golden Eagles to beat them from the outside.
Only Vander Blue has shown the ability to make shots from the outside in the NCAA Tournament, and he is a streaky shooter.
The stakes are high here, and the defenses should have the edge. A game played in the low 120’s is what I’m expecting here.
Good Luck, Razor Ray.
