Winnipeg & Washington under 5.5
The Winnipeg Jets host the Washington Capitals on Thursday. Winnipeg is coming off a 3-1 win over Boston, while Washington dropped their last game to Pittsburgh, 2-1.
Winnipeg is enjoying one of the hottest runs in hockey right now, and they’ve somewhat surprisingly done it on the back of hot goaltending rather than their offense.
With wins in six of their last eight games, the Jets have propelled themselves into the top position in the Southeast Division.
Ondrej Pavelec deserves a ton of the credit for that, racking up a save percentage of .929 in starting seven of those eight games.
Even more impressive, in that stretch of games, he’s posted a 1.33 GAA and a .952 save percentage at home.
Winnipeg’s defensive efforts have been much better at home, as evident by the 9-1 under run in their last 10 home games.
That doesn’t bode well for the Capitals, as they’ve scored only five times in their last three road games.
The under is 6-1 in Washington’s last seven road games.
As for Washington’s goaltending situation, netminder Braden Holtby recorded a shutout in his last trip to Winnipeg, stopping each of the 35 shots he faced in that game.
The under is 7-0 in the last seven meetings between these teams in Winnipeg. Take the UNDER.
Good Luck, Razor Ray
