8* Thursday NBA MIN/SAC
Minnesota vs. Sacramento,
03/21/2013 22:00 EDT,
Score: 98 - 101
Point Spread: -6/-110 Sacramento
The Sacramento Kings host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday. The Kings are coming off a 116-101 win over the Clippers, while the Timberwolves dropped their last game in Memphis, 92-77.
We cashed a ticket on the Kings in their own building against Charlotte a few weeks ago, and we’re going back to that well for this one.
Sacramento’s last nine home starts have been a bit up-and-down, but a closer look at their opponents show that the Kings are a major play-on team in their own barn right now.
The Kings are 6-3 in those nine home games, but a look at those losses show that they stayed close with the likes of San Antonio, a red-hot Denver team, and a streaking Milwaukee team, losing those three games by an average of just 5.0 points.
As for the wins, there are some more strong teams in that group. Sacramento got past Utah and Houston to begin this stretch of games, then destroyed Charlotte by 36 points, beat Phoenix by nine, then dismantled Chicago, 121-79.
The most impressive win is also the most recent, as the Kings beat up on in-state rival and No. 4 seed in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Clippers, winning by 15 points.
The Kings are averaging 110.6 points per game since the All Star break, tops in the Association.
As for the Timberwolves, they entered the season with playoff hopes, but that dream is long gone.
Minnesota has mailed in their season, and when that happens, it is especially evident in road games.
The Timberwolves have dropped each of their last eight road contests, losing those games by an average margin of 14.5 points.
The Timberwolves are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games, and 2-6 ATS in their last eight trips to the Sleep Train Arena. Take Sacramento.
Good Luck, Razor Ray
