The New Mexico Lobos battle the Harvard Crimson in West Region action on Thursday.
Harvard has been winning games by sticking to their strengths. The Crimson rank in a tie for sixth in the nation in 3-point percentage, knocking down 40.1 percent of their triples, while ranking 12th in field goal percentage, converting on 48.2 percent of their shots from the field.
Harvard also ranks 28th in rebounding, bringing in 27.2 boards per game.
The team’s offense runs through Ivy League leading scorer Wesley Saunders, who paced the conference with 16.5 points per game, while ranking second in field goal percentage, converting on his shot attempts at a 53.6 percent clip.
The Crimson also feature guard Siyani Chambers, who led the conference in assists, while also chipping in an average of 12.9 points per game.
The Crimson are 5-0 ATS in their last five games versus an opponent with a winning record, and 4-0 ATS in their last four non-conference games.
New Mexico’s No. 3 ranking may be more than a little hollow. The team racked up 29 victories and a second consecutive Mountain West Conference tournament win, but their only victory against a team in the RPI Top 20 came against UNLV on January 9th.
The Lobos are 1-4 ATS in their last five NCAA Tournament games. Take Harvard.
Good Luck, Razor Ray
