Joe D'Amico's PAC 12 Tourney Game of the Year
Oregon State vs. Colorado,
03/13/2013 17:30 EDT,
Score: 68 - 74
Point Spread: -5½/-107 Colorado
Oregon State got their first ever victory
at Colorado only to meet again 4 days later and lose 64-58. Please take note that OSU's win over Colorado happened during the absence of Andre Roberson. Without the Forward crushing the boards, OSU outrebounded Col, 36-28. The Beavers dropped 14 of their L18, tying them for last place with Washington State. Oregon State lacks depth . They are 14-17 SU and 8-11 in Conference play Prior to Saturdays win, OSU lost 5 straight with only one cover. Losing Gomez and Brandt back in November, desperately hurt the squad. Overall, their offensive numbers are lower-tier as the Beavers rank 94th in FG% at 44.9 and 257th in FT% at 66.7%. But their defensive stats are amongst the worst in the nation ranking around 200th in several areas including PPG (263), FG% (198), 3-point % (198) and rebounds (210). Colorado is the defending Tournament Champions. The Buffs were without Roberson, who is the PAC 12'd Defensive Player of the Year, averaging 11.5 RPG and 2.3 steals per game. Which are both leading the Conference. He sat a few game due to a viral infection but is back at 100%. He MUST play, get ample time, and be confident before the team can go to the next level. Burton and Moreland each hit DDs in points and rebounds while Roberson was out. Along with Roberson, Dinwiddie made the PAC 12 1st team. Four players post 10 or more points per game. They are a very solid team on the boards and overall, they hold opponents to just 63.1 PPG on 40.2% shooting. Don't be fooled by OSU's Tourney numbers as their L5 Tournament victories were al against lower seeded squads. Colorado has taken down such notables as Baylor, Washington State, Stanford twice, Cal, Oregon twice, and Arizona. The favorite in this series is 5-2 ATS their L7. The Buffaloes are 7-1 ATS their L8 games played in neutral sites while the Beavers are 0-7 ATS their L7 following a SU win. Take Colorado. Thank you.
