Nashville & Colorado under 5
The Colorado Avalanche host the Nashville Predators on Monday. Colorado is coming off a 6-4 loss to Edmonton, while Nashville dropped their last game to Anaheim in a shootout, 3-2.
The Predators have made a name for themselves by playing Barry Trotz’s responsible, tight-checking,
defensive style of hockey. That type of game produces a lot of unders, and the Predators have played under the total in eight of their last nine road contests.
It also doesn’t hurt having one of the league’s best goaltenders between the pipes. No goaltender in the NHL has been hotter than Pekka Rinne who has three shutouts in his last five games, and a 1.63 GAA and .936 save percentage on the season.
Colorado ranks near the bottom of the NHL in goals scored, and it took a four-goal performance in their
last game against the defensively-challenged Oilers to pull them up from dead last in that category.
The Avalanche will not only have a tough time getting the puck past Pekka Rinne, but they’ll have trouble just getting the puck through to him, as Scott Hannan and Kevin Klein have combined for 64 blocked shots through 15 games.
The under is 11-1-1 in Nashville’s last 14 games overall. Take the UNDER.
Good Luck, Razor Ray
