6* Saturday NHL NSH/MIN

Minnesota & Nashville under 5
The Minnesota Wild host the Nashville Predators on Saturday. Minnesota is coming off a 4-1 loss to
Vancouver, while Nashville beat Los Angeles their last time out, 3-0.
There is no hotter goaltender right now than Pekka Rinne. The Finn has stopped 112 of the 115 shots he
has faced over the last four games. That equates to a GAA of 0.72 and a save percentage of .974.
With goaltending like that, it’s no surprise that Nashville has played under the total in seven of their last eight games, and eight of 10 games on the season. Nashville beat Minnesota 3-1 on January 22nd.
The Wild have scored only one goal in each of their last three games. In their last five contests the under
is 4-0-1. The team made a big splash in the offseason when they signed free agents Zach Parise and Ryan
Suter. When they decided to put Parise on their top line with Mikko Koivu and Dany Heatley they put all
their eggs in one basket.
Secondary scoring has been severely lacking in Minnesota, and they’ll have a lot of trouble getting the puck past Rinne who has three shutouts in 11 starts against them in his career.
The under is 7-1 in Nashville’s last eight road games, and 4-0-1 in Minnesota’s last five overall. Take the
Good Luck, Razor Ray

[Update: Chris Mason will start for Pekka Rinne but we still like this play for a 6* selection. The Predators will tighten up defensively in front of their backup goaltender as they did previously this season when they only allowed one goal to the Wild with Mason between the pipes.]
