Detroit & Chicago under 5.5
The Chicago Blackhawks host the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday. Chicago is coming off a 3-2 win over Columbus, while Detroit beat Minnesota their last time out, 5-3.
The Blackhawks are playing their fourth game in six nights and their sixth game in nine nights, so fatigue will certainly be an issue for them in this one. The team got off to a quick start with 11 goals in the first two days of the NHL season, but they’ve scored three in each of their last three games.
While that sounds positive, the team’s secondary scoring has completely fallen off, an issue that will cost them more than normal on nights like this when their front line players are fatigued.
The Red Wings were blown out of the water on opening night by the Blues, dropping that game, 6-0. That came after months of questions about whether or not they can defend without stalwart Nicklas Lidstrom.
The team has responded by holding their opponents to three or fewer goals in three games since. Detroit has held Chicago to three or fewer goals in each of the last seven meetings.
The under is 6-0 in the last six meetings between these teams. Take the UNDER.
