9* Sunday NBA OKC/LAL
Oklahoma City vs. LA Lakers,
01/27/2013 15:30 EDT,
Score: 96 - 105
Point Spread: -3/-110 Oklahoma City
The Los Angeles Lakers host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday. Los Angeles beat Utah their last time out, 102-84, while Oklahoma City is coming off a 105-95 win over Sacramento.
Oklahoma City has beaten Los Angeles twice this season, giving them four consecutive wins over the Lakers dating back to last season. The most recent win came on January 11th at the Staples Center by a score of 116-101.
For proof that games against the Lakers mean a little something extra to the Thunder, look no further than the teams team’s biggest stars. Kevin Durant has compiled games of 36 and 42 points in two meetings with the Lakers this season, while Russell Westbrook has put up 33 and 27 points in those two games.
This game is the last for the Thunder until Thursday, so they will not be thinking ahead, and will give the Lakers all of their attention.
As bad as the Lakers season has been, it’s been even worse when they’ve stepped up in class. The team is 0-4 ATS in their last four games against teams with a winning percentage above .600, and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games against teams with a winning record.
The team’s win at home against Utah doesn’t answer any questions, as Utah has one of the worst home-road splits in the NBA, with four losses at home and 16 on the road.
The Thunder are 4-1-1 in their last six trips to Los Angeles to face the Lakers. Take Oklahoma City.
