Taking the BALTIMORE RAVENS here. I backed BLT as a Top 10* vs Indy in Round 1. I did go against them in both games at Denver and at NE. In the Denver match-up, I felt that the Broncos defense would be the difference maker. In the Pats game, I thought that the emotion of Ray Lewis' retirement would be flat. Couple that with the what I felt was a too high of a line, and I had to go with the home team.
Here we get a very experienced Ravens team catching points from a rookie QB. This over the hill Ravens defense, which I have thought to be their weakness, has actually gotten stronger in the 2nd half of their playoff games this year. They gave up 3 points to Indy, 7 to Denver (remember Denver got 7 on a special teams return> and a flat-goose-egg ZERO to New England at home in the 2nd half. That is a 0 points to the leagues highest scoring team, at home. So they have gone on the road the last 2 games and have basically shut-out two HOF QBs in b2b weeks. Again.. ON THE ROAD.
I had said in preference write ups that Flacco needed to get to the Super Bowl. He is a winner. He just hadn't been able to get over that hump. Not totally his fault. Last year in NE, his team should have won. The simple fact is that Joe Flacco has out-played Tom Brady the last 2 AFC Championship games.
Enter Frisco. I had GB and Atlanta over them the last 2 weeks. I still do not have faith in a rookie QB. Not in the playoffs. Not vs a QB like Rodgers. Not on the road with a dog backed into a corner in Atlanta. And surely not in the biggest game of his life here vs Baltimore. I will give SF all the credit in the world for their great season and blasting GB. But they looked very vulnerable vs the Falcons. I am not a fan of ATL HC Mike Smith. Atlanta had this team early and could not put the hammer down.
That won't be the case here with Baltimore. This team is clearly on a mission and is playing excellent since firing their OC.
Super Bowl Under-Dog WINNER 10* BALTIMORE RAVENS. Sprinkle some ML on the Ravens if you must.
I will be adding Super Bowl Prop Plays on Sunday. They will be in the Free Pick Section.
