Joe D's NCAAF Independence Bowl Shocker of the Year
Ohio vs. Louisiana-Monroe,
12/28/2012 14:00 EDT,
Score: 45 - 14
Point Spread: -7/-103 Louisiana-Monroe
Friday's winner is Monroe over Ohio. This is my Bowl Shocker of the Year.
Ohio started the season 7-0, only to drop 4 of their L5, including the final three games by a combined 106-47. Injuries to their OL forced QB, Tettleton to be sacked 22 times just in the L4 games. This is a team that was 1-5 ATS away from home TY. Overall, the Bobcats failed to cover 7 of their L8. To make matters worse, the Ohio offense will be seeing a Monroe 3-3-5 "D" that will be brand new to them. Injuries hampered Monroe but the time off has made the team healthy once again. Browning has been incredible since returning from injury. The QB has tossed 27 TDs in the air and accounted for 7 more scores on the ground. This is a squad that thumped Arkansas, 34-31 as a 30-poimt 'dog and hung tough vs. both Auburn and Baylor, covering both matchups. This is a home game for the Warhawks, who shredded both North Texas and Florida International by a combined, 65-33 to end their season. The Warhawks are 4-0 ATS their L4 non-Conference games and 9-4 ATS their L13 games played overall. The Bobcats are 1-5 ATS their L6 games following an ATS loss and 1-7 ATS their L8 games played overall. Take Monroe. Thank you.
