Joe D'Amico's NFL MNF Texans/Pats Winner
Houston vs. New England,
12/10/2012 20:30 EDT,
Score: 14 - 42
Point Spread: +4/-105 Houston
Today's winner is Houston over New England.
Houston would lock up the top spot in the AFC with a win here. New England clinched their Division but is battling for a first-round bye right now. The Texans are riding a 6 game win streak, including all three road contests. The offense has just about the most well-balanced unit in football. Matt Schaub has won 15 of his L16 starts. The QB has amassed 3062 YP and 21 TDs. RB, Foster has 1102 YR and 13 scores while the receiving tandem of Johnson and Daniels have combined for 1712 YP and 9 TDs. Overall, the unit does not turn the ball over often. On "D", DE, Watt is notorious for getting to the QB and wreaking havoc. The Patriots OL gave up 4 sacks LW to the Dolphins. They must now face a superior defense with a fast and ferocious pass rush. Tom Brady will feel pressure in this matchup with Edelman and Gronkowski sidelined. The QB hasn't felt the strain of the absences yet. The team does post a lot of points but if you look closely, many of their points came in one-sided games against lesser foes. The Patriots are 2-5 ATS their L7 games played at home and 1-4 ATS their L5 games played in December. The Texans are 9-3 ATS their L12 games played on the road and 9-1-1 ATS their L11 games played vs. teams with a winning record. Take Houston. Thank you.
