5* Sunday Night Football Game of the Year on Broncos -6
Under the direction of Peyton Manning, the Broncos are 6th in the NFL in total offense with 384.7 yards per game and 7th in scoring with 28.3 points per game. Following a bye week, I expect them to be an even more well-oiled machine.

Taking Denver off a bye has been pure gold. It is 18-6 ATS following a bye the last two decades, including 8-2 ATS in its last 10.

With the extra time to prepare, I fully expect Manning and company to take advantage of a pitiful New Orleans' defense.

The Saints rank last in the NFL in total defense, giving up 465.5 yards per game, and 29th in scoring defense, allowing 30.3 points per contest. The Broncos’ fourth-ranked passing attack, which averages 290.8 yards per game, should be able to move the football at will on a pass defense that ranks 30th in the league with 304.5 yards allowed per game.

New Orleans is a good offensive football team, but it is yet to come up against a defense as talented as good the one it will see Sunday night. It hasn't faced a team with a defense that currently ranks in the top 10 until now. The Broncos are only giving up 215.3 yards per game through the air, and I expect them to have some success in slowing down Brees behind a quality pass rush that has amassed 18.0 sacks.

Playing against road underdogs or pickems that scored 30 points or more last game and are matched up against an opponent that was held to 3.0 points or less in the first half of its last game are 40-15 ATS the last 10 seasons. Lay the points.
