The Dallas Cowboys are in a brawl with the Philadelphia Eagles for first place in the NFC East, and they are coming off an imperfect but very important win. In Thursday's NFL betting they will play host to the Oakland Raiders, a team that severely damaged its own playoff hopes last week, in a game that will get underway at 4:30 PM ET at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.

Stanford’s stay in the BCS top five did not last long after last week’s loss to USC dropped it to No. 9 in the latest rankings. This opened the door for Oregon to climb back in at No. 5 despite losing to the Cardinal the week before. No. 4 Baylor continues to apply the pressure to No. 3 Ohio State at 9-0 and if the Bears beat No. 10 Oklahoma State this Saturday they will probably lead frog the Buckeyes in next week’s poll. The top two positions remained unchanged and will most likely stay that way as long as No. 2 Florida State and No. 1 Alabama keep winning.

While the turnover rate among the college basketball elite is about as a high as they come – look at the March Madness odds, after all – it’s important early on for hoops fans to slow down just enough to not get ahead of themselves. Lost in the confusion of Kentucky’s recruiting class and Michigan State’s performance at the Champions Classic is that the reigning champion Louisville Cardinals are the still the team to beat.

Oregon’s stunning 26-20 loss to Stanford as a 10-point road favorite last Thursday night has paved the way for an Alabama vs. Florida State BCS title game if both teams go on to win out. Ohio State is waiting patiently at No. 3 for one of those two to trip up and the Cardinal moved into the No. 4 spot after up-ending the Ducks. Baylor’s impressive victory over Oklahoma last Thursday night earned the undefeated Bears the No. 5 spot in the current BCS standings followed by Oregon’s new ranking at No. 6.

For the second week in a row in the NFL the underdogs had the edge over the favorites against the spread. This past week the edge was significant with nine of the 14 games going to the dogs. Until last week’s games the OVER on the total line had been the better play for the past month or so, but this time around the total stayed UNDER in eight of 14 games. Each and every week of the season NFL Betting Trends will dig a bit deeper into the numbers for a few of the bigger matchups on the schedule to give you the inside edge when it comes to wagering on the games

Why DeAngelo Williams could have had much better career

In the NFL, especially these days, it’s hard to find a 3 down back. The 2 headed running attack has taken residence amongst many NFL teams. And I comprehend the fact of not wanting to burn a player out, or a change of pace ball carrier, someone who can switch things up but I don’t like it. I think they try to relieve it by saying they are lengthening the career of some of the backs, and clearly, this could help them in a longer career. But, the back never gets to showcase their truest expectations for the team either. DeAngelo Williams is a perfect example to me of one of those backs.
