Stanford’s stay in the BCS top five did not last long after last week’s loss to USC dropped it to No. 9 in the latest rankings. This opened the door for Oregon to climb back in at No. 5 despite losing to the Cardinal the week before. No. 4 Baylor continues to apply the pressure to No. 3 Ohio State at 9-0 and if the Bears beat No. 10 Oklahoma State this Saturday they will probably lead frog the Buckeyes in next week’s poll. The top two positions remained unchanged and will most likely stay that way as long as No. 2 Florida State and No. 1 Alabama keep winning.

This Saturday’s schedule in college football is filled with head-to-head matchups between ranked teams starting with a 3:30 p.m. tilt in the SEC between No. 12 Texas A&M and No. 22 LSU. Both teams are out of the title chase in the West Division, but positioning for a major bowl is still on the line. The Tigers have been opened by 5Dimes as four-point home favorites with the total set at 71.

Also at 3:30, the No. 19 Wisconsin Badgers will be on the road against the No. 25 Minnesota Golden Gophers. Both of these Big Ten foes are out of the conference championship picture in their respective division, but major bowl considerations factor into this matchup as well. The Badgers have been opened as hefty 16-point road favorites in this contest with the total set at 50.

The action really starts to heat up on Saturday night with No. 17 Arizona State on the road against No. 14 UCLA as a 2.5-point favorite with the total set at 62. The winner of this game would have a major leg up in the race for the Pac-12 South Division title and a spot in this year’s conference title game.

Going back to the SEC, No. 8 Missouri will look to maintain its lead in the East Division with a victory over No. 24 Ole Miss. The Tigers are 5-1 in conference play, but that lone loss was to South Carolina which remains right on their heels at 6-2. The Rebels are 3-3 in conference play and out of the West Division race, but they would love to play the role of spoiler as 2.5-point underdogs at home. The total for this conference clash has been set at 57.

The final and biggest head-to-head matchup on Saturday’s slate is No. 4 Baylor on the road against No. 10 Oklahoma State as a 10-point favorite with the total set at 78. This game has major implications for this season’s Big 12 title. The Bears come in at 6-0 in conference play with a previous victory over No. 20 Oklahoma and two remaining games against TCU and Texas, which is 6-1 in the conference. The Cowboys are 6-1 in the Big 12 with their only loss coming to West Virginia. They wrap things up with their traditional season ending game against the Sooners.

Other games this Saturday involving a top-five team starts off with Alabama at home against Chattanooga as a 49-point favorite in a 2 p.m. start. The total line for this game is barely higher than the spread at 52. Florida State has been opened as a 57-point home favorite against Idaho with the total line set at 69.
