Going over the final results for Week 11 in the NFL we find that the favorites doubled-up the underdogs 8-4 against the spread, but three games actually ended as a PUSH on a three-point spread. The total line was evenly split with seven games going OVER the closing line and seven staying UNDER with the other game also ending as a PUSH. Each and every week of the season NFL Betting Trends will dig a bit deeper into the numbers for a few of the bigger matchups on the schedule to give you the inside edge when it comes to wagering on the games. All betting lines and odds quoted have been provided by 5Dimes.

In a battle of two divisional foes headed in completely opposite directions, the 8-2 New Orleans Saints will try and add to the misery of their rivals when they square-off against the 2-8 Atlanta Falcons this Thursday night at the Georgia Dome. This is a complete reversal of last season when New Orleans went into the tank without its head coach Sean Payton while Atlanta sored to the best record in the conference at 13-3. The Saints are 6-4 ATS this season and they have been opened as nine-point road favorites for Thursday night. The total for this NFC South matchup has been set at 53.5.

Another big divisional showdown in Sunday’s early games sends the 4-6 Pittsburgh Steelers on the road to face the 4-6 Cleveland Browns. Pittsburgh continues to rebound from a painfully slow start and it is coming off an impressive 37-27 victory over Detroit last Sunday as a 2.5-point home underdog. It has been opened as a 1.5-point road underdog against the Browns, who were hammered by Cincinnati 41-20 last time out as 5.5-point underdogs on the road. The total for this game has been set at 41.5.

Sunday’s late games feature one of the biggest divisional matchups of the day. The 5-5 Dallas Cowboys come off their bye to face the 4-6 New York Giants in an effort to move into a tie with idle Philadelphia atop the NFC East. Dallas limped into its bye week after getting crushed by the Saints 49-17 as a 6.5-point road underdog. The Giants come into this showdown riding a four-game winning streak after losing their first six games of the season. New York is also 4-6 ATS and it has been opened as a 2.5-point home favorite over the Cowboys. The total for this divisional battle has been set at 47.5.

Sunday night’s game pits the 9-1 Denver Broncos against the 7-3 New England Patriots in another much anticipated showdown between the Broncos’ Peyton Manning and the Patriots’ Tom Brady. Denver is coming off a huge 27-17 victory over Kansas City, while New England will need to quickly rebound from this past Monday night’s 24-20 loss to Carolina. The game is in Foxborough but the Patriots are still 2.5-point home underdogs with the total set at 53.5.

Week 12 in the NFL wraps things up in our nation’s capital with 3-7 Washington hosting 6-4 San Francisco. Both teams are fading fast in their divisional title race with losses in their last two games. The 49ers are still in solid shape for a wildcard spot in the NFC, but another loss by the Redskins would put a huge dent in their chances to return to the playoffs after winning the NFC East last year. San Francisco comes into FedEx Field as a five-point favorite with the total set at 48.
